COVID-19 Safety Enhancements for Appointments

  • All patients and staff members are required to wear face masks in the office. Providers must also wear eye shields.
  • The number of people in the clinic at one time is limited. Patients are asked to come alone to their appointment, when possible.
  • The waiting areas have limited seating with six feet of space between seats. This may necessitate patients waiting in their cars at busy times.
  • All patients are pre-screened with several health questions and a temperature check before entering the clinic. If pre-screening detects signs of illness, the patient receives advice for possible medical treatment and the appointment is rescheduled.
  • Providers and other staff are regularly screened for fevers and other signs of COVID-19 illness before they are cleared to meet with patients.
  • All clinic spaces are cleaned with CDC-approved cleaning products and all surfaces are disinfected with CDC-approved disinfecting agents after each patient visit.
  • Patients and staff are reminded to wash their hands frequently and especially after removing face masks!

The health and safety of our patients and our staff at Chesapeake Surgical Associates are very important to us.

We will remain open and will be offering appointments to our patients. We want to let you know that we are in constant contact with the Maryland Department of Health, we are staying up-to-date with the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Center for Disease Control Website

In an effort to proactively protect our patients and staff, we would like to share that any patient (or family member) presenting with virus type symptoms (cough, fever or shortness of breath) will be required to reschedule their appointment.  In order to not cause you unnecessary frustration, we ask that you call us in advance to reschedule your appointment.  You will be required to wait at least 14 days to be rescheduled.

As another precautionary measure, we are asking patients to bring no more than one person to their appointment.  If at any given time we find too many people in our waiting room, your guest will be asked to wait for you in their car until you are finished with your appointment.

We appreciate your support during this challenging time.

Please call our office if you have any questions.
